Here’s a true story. Several years ago, Bruce Judson, the founder of the Cost Savings Guy was working on a consulting engagement for a company that wanted to build a database that would include about 200,000 separate pieces of information and could be queried from the client’s public database in real time. (This technical lingo means visitors could ask a question and the database would provide an instant answer, while the user was on the client’s Web site.)
The client had received a serious bid of about $500,000 from a development firm to create the database, with an understanding that it would probably take several months to create this real-time response data-base. After examining Caspio’s capabilities, Judson returned with the astounding news that Caspio’s platform would allow the client to create a database that met all of the stated requirements (including real-time responses to questions) for about $80 a month and could be created in a few days.
